Business valuation can be done for various reasons, but most often it is done when someone wants to buy or sell a company or when someone needs to borrow money from a bank.

The fundamental principle of valuation is that the value of a company is the present value of its future cash flows.

The value of a company is the present value of its future cash flows. The formula for this calculation is:

Value = Present Value x (1+discount rate)

This formula can be used to calculate the price at which an investor would be willing to buy shares in a company, or how much an investor should pay for shares in a company.

The key elements of business valuation include:

Liquidation value
Asset value

The three main components of fair market value are:

Cost of replacement: What would it cost to replace the property with a similar one?
Market value: What is the property worth in the open market?
Special features or improvements: What special features does the property have that would increase its value?

The process of business valuation is complex and it can be very time-consuming. The following are some of the basic steps involved in a business valuation:

Determine the purpose of the appraisal. Is it for estate tax purposes, divorce settlement, buy-sell agreement, or to establish a loan value?
Determine what type of appraisal is needed. The type of appraisal will depend on the purpose and the source of information used to estimate value.
Collect data about your company's assets and liabilities. Assets include tangible items like equipment, buildings, inventory etc., while liabilities include loans or other debts incurred by your company.
Calculate your company's net worth by subtracting liabilities from assets.
Determine how much you want to sell your company for by considering factors like its net worth, industry trends, etc., and then divide that number by your company's net worth to get a multiple .A company that has a multiple of 8 is worth $8 for every dollar the company is worth.

Go to our Consult with Experts page and follow the steps to make and confirm your booking.  Once you confirm your booking, you will be notified by email of the confirmation with your expert. If, for any reason, you need to cancel a booking with an Expert, your payment will remain in your escrow account as credit to be used at any later time, provided you cancel the booking 24 hours prior to the booking time.  Failure to cancel or reschedule the booking 24 hours prior to the session will result in a full payment charge. We invite you to contact us to explain any force majeure that led to your cancellation, and we promise to take your situation into consideration for a partial refund on your cancellation.
